Just as they practice every week, Souderton pulls off Play of the Year nominee in final seconds to break 14-14 tie with Wissahickon.

The old hook-and-lateral play. It's in every playbook. It's in every arsenal. It's every defensive coordinator's nightmare.

The Souderton (Pa.) football team pulled off the play to perfection Friday night and it led the Indians to a shocking, last-second 20-14 victory over host Wissahickon.

According to gametimepa.com, the play capped a seven-play, 58-yard drive, came with 6.3 seconds to play and was instigated by — of all people — Souderton's defensive coordinator.

"(He) was chirping in my ear, he's like ‘Hook-and-ladder, hook-and-ladder,'" Souderton head coach Ed Gallagher told reporters afterward. "I'm like, "Alright, well, let me set it up a little.'"

Souderton (2-1) took over with 2:06 to play from its own 42. On fourth-and-inches, quarterback Joey Curotto fired a pass in the left flat to Markeem Graham, who lateraled it to Jamar White, who then scampered down the left sideline untouched to complete a 31-yard scoring play.

The Indians practice the play every Thursday, according to the story.

"As soon as (Graham) caught it, I knew it was a touchdown," White said.

Said Gallagher: "It worked like a charm."
