Basketball Recap: Timberland's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Berkeley, Timberland was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 64-63 victory over the Stratford Knights. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wolves as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Stratford lost, don't look at Herman Smith. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points along with seven boards and six steals. Derrick Peterson was another key player, putting up 13 points and five rebounds.

Timberland's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Stratford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timberland will take on Berkeley in a holiday battle at at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Berkeley will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Timberland surely won't give up without a fight. Stratford and Academic Magnet will compete for holiday cheer at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Stratford is facing Academic Magnet at the right time seeing as Academic Magnet is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
