Baseball Recap: Cardinal Gibbons Comes Up Short

Cardinal Gibbons and Monsignor Pace squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Cardinal Gibbons had to settle for second. They lost 14-2 to the Spartans. The Chiefs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Cardinal Gibbons saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brenden Trujillo, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Cardinal Gibbons' loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Monsignor Pace, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-11.

Cardinal Gibbons does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monsignor Pace, they will face off against Miami Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 3.9, the Golden Hawks 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
