Baseball Recap: University Victorious

The University Trailblazers beat the Owensboro Catholic Aces 8-3 on Wednesday.

Cam Rady looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, University let Sterling Davis and Cooper Cammack run wild. Davis went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double, while Cammack scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Phillip Jacobs, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

University now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Owensboro Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Looking ahead, University will square off against Christian Educational Consortium at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trailblazers are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Owensboro Catholic, they will venture away from home to face off against Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
