Football Recap: Landon Stuart and Vincent Carner Pace Newbury Park Defense + How To Watch

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks, and Thousand Oaks kept the tradition alive. The Panthers fell 17-7 to the Lancers on Friday. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Newbury Park didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Landon Stuart and Vincent Carner.

Jordan Johnson produced another solid effort rushing for 161 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry for Thousand Oaks. Johnson also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making two total tackles and defending one pass in addition to snagging two interceptions. Hayden Vercher did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 93 receiving yards.

Newbury Park dropped their record down to 4-5 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Thousand Oaks, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
