Softball Recap: Douglas Comes Up Short

Douglas entered their contest against Boaz on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Eagles came up short against the Pirates, falling 16-10. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 12-1 to the Pirates when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Bella Baker led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Jaycee Dowdey, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Douglas' defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Boaz, their win bumped their record up to an identical 6-2.

While Douglas had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
