Recap: Winnebago Indians vs. Omaha Nation Chiefs
The Winnebago Indians were the 64-34 winner over the Omaha Nation Chiefs when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Winnebago fell to Omaha Nation 61-57. Winnebago just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Winnebago lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Timothy Lapointe. Despite the final result, he scored 27 points along with 9 rebounds. Lapointe scored a full 47.4% of Winnebago's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Rachman Free-Bass was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 14 rebounds.
Winnebago's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Omaha Nation, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winnebago will take on Oakland-Craig at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Omaha Nation, they will head out on the road to face off against Archbishop Bergan at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
