Football Preview: LaFayette Ramblers vs. Calhoun Yellow Jackets        
        
		
            
 The LaFayette Ramblers will venture away from home to  square off against the Calhoun Yellow Jackets  at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. The  teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: LaFayette has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Calhoun will arrive with five straight  wins.
LaFayette is headed into the  matchup out to prove that what happened against Heritage  last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Ramblers were  outmatched by the Generals and fell  38-10. While losing is never fun, the Ramblers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Generals are ranked 149th).

Meanwhile, Calhoun never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding  35-0 victory over Heritage. The Yellow Jackets' offense checked out after the first half but had enough  points banked to take the game anyway.
LaFayette better focus on containing  Hudson Chadwick and  Justin Beasley as the pair were huge in Calhoun's win. Chadwick gained 128 total yards and three touchdowns, while  Beasley gained 127 total yards and two touchdowns. Beasley is also crushing it when it comes to  receiving yards: he's   posted at least 100 every time he's  taken the field this season.
 Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Calhoun proved: they limited Heritage to a paltry 3.3 yards per carry. The team can thank  Blake Hammett for the heroic effort on defense: he. Calhoun didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.4.
 Calhoun's record now sits at 7-2. As for LaFayette, they now  have a losing record of 4-5.
Thursday's   game might be decided on the ground. LaFayette has been excellent on the ground this season,  having  averaged 174.9  rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Calhoun struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  an even more impressive 199.2  rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's   contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
 LaFayette lost to Calhoun on the road  by a decisive  38-24 margin  in their previous meeting  back in November of 2024. Can the Ramblers avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
