LaFayette is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Heritage last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Ramblers were outmatched by the Generals and fell 38-10. While losing is never fun, the Ramblers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Generals are ranked 149th).

LaFayette didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Bryson Cleghorn and Jordan Ridley.

Meanwhile, Calhoun never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 35-0 victory over Heritage. The Yellow Jackets' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

LaFayette better focus on containing Hudson Chadwick and Justin Beasley as the pair were huge in Calhoun's win. Chadwick gained 128 total yards and three touchdowns, while Beasley gained 127 total yards and two touchdowns. Beasley is also crushing it when it comes to receiving yards: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Calhoun proved: they limited Heritage to a paltry 3.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Blake Hammett for the heroic effort on defense: he. Calhoun didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 7.4.

Calhoun's record now sits at 7-2. As for LaFayette, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Thursday's game might be decided on the ground. LaFayette has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 174.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Calhoun struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 199.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Thursday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
