Preview: Williams Vikings vs. Seligman Antelopes
Williams is 9-1 against Seligman since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Both teams will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Seligman took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Williams, who comes in off a win.
Williams posted their biggest victory since December 28, 2023 on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Grand Canyon 73-46 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Williams.
It was another big night for Kai Mortensen, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 12 rebounds. Braydyn Larimore was another key contributor, scoring 27 points along with five assists and two steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Seligman, who are still winless after their 16th game. They were outmatched by Fredonia at home and fell 52-24. Seligman has struggled against Fredonia recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Williams is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. As for Seligman, their loss was their 17th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-16.
Everything came up roses for Williams against Seligman in their previous matchup two weeks ago as the squad secured a 83-23 win. With Williams ahead 49-17 at the half, the game was all but over already.
