Denver City entered their tilt with Stanton on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Buffaloes. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly four runs.

Andres Ornelas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Denver City's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Erik Sinaloa, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Sinaloa a new career-high.

Denver City's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Stanton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
