Football Recap: Bishop Ireton Comes Up Short

Bishop Ireton fell victim to St. Mary's Ryken and their airtight defense on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Knights. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Bishop Ireton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for St. Mary's Ryken, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Ireton will host Paul VI at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for St. Mary's Ryken, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Archbishop Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on November 7.
