Basketball Recap: Saint James Falls Short Against Ranked Flint Hill

Saint James is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Flint Hill. The Saint James Saints lost 67-43 to the Flint Hill Huskies. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Saints this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-68 back in December of 2024.

Saint James lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Khari Yates, who posted 11 points and three steals. That's the most steals Yates has posted since back in November of 2024. Aiden Carter was another key player, putting up four points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Saint James smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.

Saint James has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Flint Hill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.

Saint James wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 67-62 loss against Maret on the 30th. As for Flint Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-59 defeat against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes on the 29th.
