Soccer Game Preview: Fitzgerald vs. Lowndes

The Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane will head out on the road to face off against the Lowndes Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fitzgerald will be strutting in after a win while Lowndes will be coming in after a loss.

Fitzgerald had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged Crisp County out 3-2.

Fitzgerald was led to victory by the tag-team duo of Nathan Cox and Carlos Rojo, who scored all three of Fitzgerald's goals.

Meanwhile, Lowndes fell victim to North Gwinnett's stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 10-0 walloping at the hands of the Bulldogs. Lowndes has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fitzgerald ended up on the wrong side of a painful 5-1 walloping at their hands in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can they avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
