Softball Recap: Winneconne Triumphs

Plymouth typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Winneconne proved too difficult a challenge. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Panthers an 11-0 shutout. The victory continues a trend for the Wolves in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

The result came thanks to Julia Youngbauer's shutout, as she gave up just four hits.

At the plate, Grace Mitchell was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sayge Pelletier, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Winneconne lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Winneconne's win bumped their record up to 8-16. As for Plymouth, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 21-4 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Winneconne beat the Panthers by a score of 11-0 later that day.
