Basketball Recap: Hibriten Takes a Loss

After soaring to 64 points the game before, Hibriten was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were dealt a 62-30 loss at the hands of the Watauga Pioneers. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now lost four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Watauga to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maddox Greene, who posted eight points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Josiah Railey, who earned eight points and five assists.

Hibriten's loss dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Watauga, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Panthers duke it out with the Cougars at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alexander Central is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.7 points per game this season. As for Watauga, they are taking a road trip to square off against Freedom at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Watauga knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 matches -- so hopefully Freedom likes a good challenge.
