Basketball Recap: Calvary Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Taylor

Calvary Christian Academy lost to Taylor back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Calvary Christian Academy Lions were the clear victor by a 76-54 margin over the Taylor Wildcats. The Lions pushed the score to 57-33 by the end of the third, a deficit the Wildcats cut but never quite recovered from.

Nehemiah Wigley was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards. Benjamin Glenfield was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Despite the defeat, Taylor saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jace Harcus went 7 of 13 on his way to 28 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of James Thomas, who posted six points and three steals.

Calvary Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Taylor, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Calvary Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-40 victory against Circle Christian on the 9th. As for Taylor, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-60 win against Crooms Academy on the 9th.
