Volleyball Recap: Boulder Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mountain Range on Tuesday, Boulder came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Brighton Bulldogs on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

While Boulder ultimately came up short, they really made Brighton work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 25-22, 25-16.

Sloane Smith paced Boulder's offense, picking up eight kills. Smith got some help from Mackenzie Horning and her 21 assists. Smith was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Boulder has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Brighton, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-7.

Boulder has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Riverdale Ridge on the 7th. As for Brighton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Mountain Range on the 7th.
