Nekoosa dropped their record down to 8-7 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 13-3 to the Adams-Friendship Green Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Green Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Tuesday.

Lillian Ostrum was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Sofia Gaupp was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Adams-Friendship, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-7 record this season. Considering they have won 11 games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

On Adams-Friendship's side, Riley Weaver was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Weaver has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two triples, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Kena Kirsenlohr was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Kerrigan Danowski, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Nekoosa will head out to face off against Sparta at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Adams-Friendship, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Westfield Area at 5:00 p.m. The Green Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pioneers have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
