Volleyball Game Preview: Central Golden Eagles vs. Longmeadow Lancers + How To Watch

Central is 1-7 against Longmeadow since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Lancers at 5:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Longmeadow will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Central extended their winning streak to four on Monday. The Golden Eagles were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Westfield.

While Central won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-19, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Longmeadow got the win against Putnam Vo-Tech on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0. The victory continues a trend for the Lancers in their matchups with the Beavers: they've now won three in a row.

Longmeadow was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-17, 25-18.

Central better keep an eye on Caroline Croteau. She was instrumental in Longmeadow's win, getting seven aces.

Longmeadow was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 19 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Central's record is now 16-2. As for Longmeadow, their record now sits at 17-2.

Central suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Longmeadow when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Golden Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
