Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Sharks vs. Port Chester Rams

Roosevelt had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. Their tough 6-0 defeat to the Port Chester Rams on Monday might stick with them for a while. The loss means Roosevelt is still on the hunt for the season's first 'W'.

For Port Chester's part, Jordany German tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and only one hit while striking out 18 over 6.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Billy Villanova was excellent, going 1-for-2 with a home run and two RBI. Ryan Gagnon was another key contributor, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and a stolen base.

Port Chester's win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-0.

Roosevelt will head out on the road to square off against Lincoln at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Port Chester, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Arlington at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
