Millbrook's loss ends six-game winning streak at home

Recap: Millbrook Blazers vs. Spackenkill Spartans

After a string of seven wins, the Millbrook Blazers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. Their tough 55-34 loss to Spackenkill might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Millbrook has scored all season.

Several Blazers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Szostak, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Szostak is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Owen Iannucci, who scored seven points along with three blocks and two steals.

Millbrook's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3. As for Spackenkill, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.

Millbrook will head out on the road to square off against Webutuck at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Millbrook is facing Webutuck at the right time seeing as Webutuck is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Spackenkill, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Haldane at 6:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Haldane is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
