Softball Recap: St. Thomas More Drops Highest Score of Season Against Chrisman

St. Thomas More was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 8-5 to the Chrisman Cardinals. On the bright side, the five- run effort marked the Sabers' highest-scoring match to date.

Emma Remenji put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. She also allowed five hits, marking her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Audrey Gooding made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those runs marked the first that she scored this season.

St. Thomas More's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Chrisman, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Thomas More will host Prairie Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Sabers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Chrisman, they will welcome Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
