Basketball Game Preview: Chilhowie Warriors vs. Grayson County Blue Devils

Having just played yesterday, the Chilhowie Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Grayson County Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Chilhowie was able to grind out a solid win over Holston, taking the game 42-29.

While Grayson County didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took down Giles 58-41 on Friday. Given the Blue Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while the Spartans are ranked 342nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chilhowie is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season. As for Grayson County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Chilhowie came up short against Grayson County in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 50-38. Can Chilhowie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
