Softball Recap: Lumen Christi Catholic Has No Trouble Against Springport

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lumen Christi Catholic had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Springport Spartans with a sharp 13-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won 20 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Bella Wrozek spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lily Ganton was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last seven games. Bree Okoniewski was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Lumen Christi Catholic's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 27-11. As for Springport, their loss dropped their record down to 16-5.

Lumen Christi Catholic didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 victory against Olivet on the 31st. Springport does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
