Basketball Recap: Simmons Comes Up Short

Simmons lost against O'Bannon back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Blue Devils came up short against the Greenwaves, falling 65-41.

Cordario Calvin was a one-man wrecking crew For O'Bannon. as he shot 73% from the field to rack up 18 points and six steals. What's more, Calvin also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kentravion Castion, who posted ten points and four steals.

Simmons' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for O'Bannon, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Simmons will face off against Humphreys County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for O'Bannon, they will square off against South Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
