Basketball Recap: Oakhaven Falls Despite Big Games from Amari Spates and Ayden Deener

Oakhaven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a hard 67-48 fall against the Kirby Cougars.

Ayden Deener and Amari Spates certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Deener posted 12 points, while Spates scored ten points.

Oakhaven's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Kirby, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Oakhaven didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-55 victory against Memphis School of Excellence - Cordova on the 21st. As for Kirby, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 73-64 defeat against Memphis East on the 20th.
