Basketball Recap: Fairmont's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Fairmont had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took down the St. Pauls Bulldogs 59-43. That's more bragging rights for the Golden Tornadoes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fairmont to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aaliyah Duran, who posted nine points in addition to five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayda Dial, who scored 12 points and five boards.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Fairmont was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Fairmont's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for St. Pauls, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairmont will host Mullins at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Pauls, they will be playing at home against Scotland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
