Baseball Recap: Pioneer Comes Up Short

Pioneer came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 15-1 to the Caston Comets. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Pioneer saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Eggers, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Eggers has launched this season.

Pioneer moved to 9-10 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Caston, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

While Pioneer had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
