Basketball Recap: Adison Hayes' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Grainger over Northview Academy

Grainger played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Northview Academy Cougars, falling 67-47. The defeat continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

Grainger's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adison Hayes, who went 5-for-10 en route to 12 points. What's more, Hayes also posted a 50% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mckinley Mills, who posted eight points.

Grainger's defeat dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Northview Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 24-3.

Grainger didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-24 victory against Cherokee on the 11th. As for Northview Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 64-25 win against Fulton on the 12th.
