Baseball Recap: New Smyrna Beach Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but New Smyrna Beach ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Atlantic Sharks 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Barracudas in their matchups with the Sharks: they've now won three in a row.

New Smyrna Beach got a great performance from James Kobylanski as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits.

On the hitting side, New Smyrna Beach saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Everidge, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

New Smyrna Beach's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs over those games. As for Atlantic, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-1.

Looking ahead, New Smyrna Beach will take on University at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Atlantic, they will head out to face off against Taylor at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Taylor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
