Softball Recap: Logansport Continues Road Dominance on Thursday

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Logansport ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the Harrison Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Berries have posted since May 23, 2024.

Gracie Risley made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Risley wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Adrienne Scott, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Logansport pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Harrison, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Logansport will head out to face off against Western at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harrison, they will host Crown Point at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
