Soccer Game Preview: Tabernacle Christian vs. Union Grove Christian

The Tabernacle Christian Conquerors will take on the Union Grove Christian Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tabernacle Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Union Grove Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

Tabernacle Christian took an eight-goal loss the last time they faced off against Cramerton Christian Academy, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Conquerors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Crusaders on Monday, sneaking past 3-2. Given Tabernacle Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Cramerton Christian Academy are ranked 370th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Union Grove Christian fought the good fight in their overtime match against Faith Christian on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0.

Union Grove Christian's defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-8. As for Tabernacle Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Tabernacle Christian beat Union Grove Christian 3-1 in their previous meeting back in August. Do the Conquerors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Patriots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
