Baseball Recap: St. Augustine Triumphs

With a playoff win on the line, St. Augustine rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Arnold Marlins by a score of 10-6. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Yellow Jackets considering their two-run performance the game before.

Josiah Vargas was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Caiden Smith was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

St. Augustine's win bumped their record up to 15-13. As for Arnold, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-13.

Coming up, St. Augustine will square off against Choctawhatchee at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Yellow Jackets surely won't give up without a fight. Arnold does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
