George Ranch's tournament run continued when they took on Tompkins on Saturday. George Ranch fell just short of Tompkins by a score of 7-6. That's two games in a row now that the Longhorns have lost by just one run.

Meanwhile, Foster suffered their closest defeat since May 17, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Santa Fe by a score of 8-6.

Oscar Trevino made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last 13 matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Prior, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Trevino wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Foster kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Foster has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10-1 record this season. George Ranch now has a losing record of 8-9-1.

Everything went George Ranch's way against Foster in their previous matchup back in April of 2016, as George Ranch made off with a 10-1 win. Does George Ranch have another victory up their sleeve, or will Foster turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
