Volleyball Recap: Washington Find Success

Washington's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Youngker Roughriders 3-2.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Washington who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 20-25, 25-15, 20-25, 15-7.

Ben Marquez paced Washington's offense, picking up 14 kills. Marquez got some help from Sebastian Slowinski and his 13 assists. Slowinski was also solid from the service line: he led the team with seven aces.

Washington's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Youngker, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Washington has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Thunderbird on the 26th. As for Youngker, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Buckeye on the 26th.
