Recap: Midland Valley Mustangs vs. South Aiken Thoroughbreds
The Midland Valley Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 46-38 to South Aiken. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Midland Valley of the 60-36 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Aiken to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sumara Williams, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kearstin Grant, who scored ten points.
Midland Valley dropped their record down to 5-18 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for South Aiken, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Midland Valley will head out on the road to take on North Augusta at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Augusta will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Midland Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for South Aiken, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Aiken at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Aiken focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
