3. Peyton Manning, Newman (New Orleans, La.)Manning was the Gatorade National Player of the Year in 1993 and led his high school team to a 34-5 record in three seasons. He chose Tennessee and became the school's all-time leading passer. He finished in the top 10 in the Heisman Trophy voting three years in a row, finishing sixth in 1995, eighth in 1996 and second to Charles Woodson in 1997. Manning currently ranks only behind Dan Marino and Brett Favre on the all-time passing yardage list in NFL history and is a three-time NFL MVP.
