Baseball Recap: Sylva Bay Academy Comes Up Short

Sylva Bay Academy blew Newton County Academy out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Newton County Academy got their revenge. The Saints fell just short of the Generals by a score of 7-5. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Micah Odom made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season.

Sylva Bay Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Newton County Academy, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Sylva Bay Academy will take on Prentiss Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Prentiss Christian has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.8 runs per game on average), something Sylva Bay Academy will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Newton County Academy, they will head out to square off against Russell Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
