Football Recap: Westmoreland Takes a Loss

Westmoreland extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Friday, dropping them down to 0-3. They were beaten by the Rappahannock Raiders 71-20. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 58-0.

As for Rappahannock, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Rappahannock had a senior duo take command as Kenneth Madison gained 232 total yards and five touchdowns and Cj Kelly threw for 165 yards and four TDs while completing 88.9% of his passes. Madison's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 15th straight game with at least 105 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westmoreland will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Handley at 1:00 p.m. on the 27th. As for Rappahannock, they will challenge Mathews at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
