Recap: Southwest Onslow Stallions vs. East Duplin Panthers
The Southwest Onslow Stallions put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 39-31 win over East Duplin. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Southwest Onslow has scored all season.
Yamorie Hardison continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. Hardison is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Oriyanna Galloway, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Ava Noble and Zakoya Farrior certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Noble scored six points along with ten rebounds and five assists, while Farrior scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Southwest Onslow's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-0. As for East Duplin, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-2.
Southwest Onslow will head out on the road to square off against Wallace-Rose Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wallace-Rose Hill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 448th, while Southwest Onslow is ranked 28th). As for East Duplin, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against James Kenan at 5:30 p.m.
