Baseball Recap: Northwestern Warriors vs. New Bremen Cardinals
Northwestern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Bremen Cardinals.
Blake Williams put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and eight unearned) runs off four hits. Williams was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Luke Wieneke made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Caleb Filler, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Northwestern's loss dropped their record down to 5-18. As for New Bremen, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-8.
