Softball Game Preview: Riverview Pirates vs. Monroe Trojans

The Riverview Pirates will head out to face off against the Monroe Trojans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Riverview will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

On Friday, Riverview was able to grind out a solid victory over Tecumseh, taking the game 8-3.

The team relied heavily on Keira Logan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Ella Vinco also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Logan wasn't the only one making solid contact: Riverview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tecumseh only managed seven hits.

Meanwhile, while Monroe put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Summerfield. The Trojans blew past the Bulldogs 8-0.

Riverview's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Monroe, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
