Basketball Recap: Weldon Valley Warriors vs. Otis Bulldogs
Weldon Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 78-35 loss at the hands of the Otis Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 97th).
Charlie Kendrick continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Otis, going 6 of 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points and three steals. Kendrick is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Cambric Klinzmann, who posted six points in addition to five boards and five steals.
Weldon Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Otis, they pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weldon Valley will host Deer Trail at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Weldon Valley is facing Deer Trail at the right time seeing as Deer Trail is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Otis, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Prairie at 7:00 p.m. Prairie has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
