Baseball Recap: Mariner's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Mariner blew South Fort Myers out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday South Fort Myers got their revenge. The Mariner Tritons fell just short of the South Fort Myers Wolfpack by a score of 7-5. The Tritons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolfpack apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Colin Raftery was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Morgan Waltz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Mariner's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for South Fort Myers, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Coming up, Mariner will welcome Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Fort Myers, they will venture away from home to square off against Manatee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Manatee's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so South Fort Myers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
