Recap: Bulloch Academy Gators vs. Savannah Country Day Hornets
The Bulloch Academy Gators lost against the Savannah Country Day Hornets back in January of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Bulloch Academy had to suffer through a rough 73-35 loss at the hands of Savannah Country Day. Bulloch Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Bulloch Academy still got an impressive performance from Keonte Mayner, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jackson Sheppard, who scored 8 points.
Savannah Country Day's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Robert Spaulding iv led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 10 rebounds. The matchup was Spaulding iv's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Nicholson, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds.
Bulloch Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Savannah Country Day, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Bulloch Academy will head out on the road to face off against Mount de Sales Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Savannah Country Day, they will be playing at home against Cathedral Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cathedral Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Savannah Country Day in their respective states (Cathedral Academy is ranked 53rd in South Carolina, while Savannah Country Day is ranked 241st in Georgia).
