Basketball Recap: David Reilly's Big Game Can't Quite Lead St. Petersburg Catholic over Foundation Christian Academy

St. Petersburg Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Foundation Christian Academy Panthers, falling 66-45.

Several Barons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was David Reilly, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Kramer, who posted five points along with five assists and three steals.

Even though they lost, St. Petersburg Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Foundation Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyndale Pittman, who earned 19 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals. Calvin Griffin was another key player, putting up 19 points.

St. Petersburg Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Foundation Christian Academy, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-10.

St. Petersburg Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-31 defeat against Osceola on the 21st. As for Foundation Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-45 loss against Florida College Academy on the 21st.
