Softball Game Preview: Dutch Fork Silver Foxes vs. Lexington Wildcats

Dutch Fork hasn't had much luck against Lexington recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Dutch Fork will venture away from home to face off against Lexington at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Dutch Fork will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating White Knoll, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Dutch Fork had just enough and edged out White Knoll 13-12 on Friday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Silver Foxes' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Lexington never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past Chapin 13-0. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Lexington and bumps their season record up to 6-1. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Dutch Fork, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Dutch Fork couldn't quite get it done against Lexington when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-3. Can Dutch Fork avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
