Softball Game Preview: North Decatur Chargers vs. South Decatur Cougars

For the second straight game, North Decatur will face off against South Decatur. The Chargers will square off against the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Decatur is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season.

It was a classic North v. South duel when North Decatur faced off against South Decatur on Monday. The Chargers never let the Cougars get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Brooklyn White made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kendall Hostkoetter was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Schoettmer, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

South Decatur now has a losing record of 8-9. As for North Decatur, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. North Decatur hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .377.
