New Madrid County Central waltzed into their game on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Caruthersville Tigers with a sharp 17-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-0 last Wednesday.

The team relied heavily on Laura Kate Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with five stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Destiny Hughes, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

New Madrid County Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in six consecutive contests.
