Osage City took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Wellsville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Indians won by a run and slipped past the Eagles 6-5. For the Indians, this counts as revenge for the 10-0 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2018.

Tyson Mullins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Austin Lamb, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was JD Tyson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Osage City now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Wellsville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Eagles beat Osage City by a score of 5-4 later that day.
